Study modes

Turn a subject into the next study action.

Name a study block, choose a focus-and-break rhythm and protect the apps that interrupt revision. Aheno’s study workflow combines its planner, timer and blocking rather than a separate exam programme.

When “study more” leaves the next step unclear

A subject can contain reading, practice questions, checking mistakes and review. Treating all of that as one task makes it hard to know where to begin or whether a block helped. Name the activity you will do next and the material it will cover.

Aheno can organise the time around that activity. You still choose the study method and check your understanding; a completed timer does not establish that you have learned the topic.

Give each block an observable outcome

Build a plan around small actions rather than promising to finish a whole subject.

  1. List the topics or assignments that need work and choose the next useful one.
  2. Name a block such as “Solve five algebra problems” or “Review yesterday’s mistakes.”
  3. Choose a focus duration and a break that fit the material and your energy.
  4. After the block, check the result and decide what to review next.

Connect the study plan with protection

Use NOA → Settings → My Focus Plan to add the named block. Before starting it, configure the session on Focus.

  1. Save the block’s date, time, focus duration and break.
  2. On Focus, select distracting apps under Protection and choose your mode.
  3. Use Start now on the saved block, or start the chosen duration from Focus.
  4. Review the study result after the session and edit later blocks if necessary.

Revision with a check at the end

Create “Practise five biology questions” for 25 minutes. Protect social apps while leaving your reference material accessible. After the session, check the answers and note the topics you missed. Name the next block after those topics instead of simply repeating “Biology.”

Know what the study workflow includes

Basic planning, the focus timer and selected-app protection are Free. Pro can repeat blocks and propose a revised schedule with Smart Rebalance. Blocks use your current Focus configuration; they do not store separate subject-category, intensity or protection-profile settings.

There is no required country-specific exam pack, automatic learning assessment or promise of higher grades. Adapt the example durations to your coursework, school requirements and circumstances.

Make the next revision block useful

Keep an outcome you can check, a realistic duration and a short review. If the work is too large, split the material before extending the timer.

Is Study a separate tab or course system?

No. The workflow uses My Focus Plan, Focus and Protections. Aheno organises your time and app boundaries; it does not supply a course, test your knowledge or choose an exam syllabus.

Can I name blocks after subjects?

Yes. Use the block name for the subject and the specific action, such as “Chemistry: review reaction errors.” There are no separate per-block subject or protection-profile fields.

Do I need Pro for study sessions?

No. Named one-off blocks, the timer and basic app protection are Free. Pro adds repeating blocks and Smart Rebalance, along with other advanced features.
