Your device activity should not become an advertising profile.

Most of what Aheno shows you never reaches our servers, because Apple's frameworks do not let it. This page explains where that line falls, the two places you can deliberately cross it, and how to take it all back.

The one rule everything else follows

Aheno is built so that the information capable of embarrassing you is the information we cannot read. That is not a promise about our intentions; it is a property of how the app is assembled, and most of it is enforced by Apple rather than by us.

Two categories are different, and this page names them plainly rather than burying them: sleep measurements you explicitly choose to share with someone, and the ordinary account records any online service needs to work. Everything else is either on your iPhone alone or does not exist.

Screen time and app usage: technically impossible for us to collect

When Aheno shows you that you spent fifty-nine minutes in one app today, that number is drawn by an Apple report extension running in a separate process. The extension has no network access and no channel back to the Aheno app. It renders the figure onto your screen and then it is gone.

This means Aheno cannot upload your per-app minutes even if we wanted to, cannot store them, cannot analyse them, and cannot show them to anyone else — including a person you have connected with. When you look at the app list on your home screen, you are seeing something no Aheno server has ever seen.

The same applies to which apps you chose to limit. Those are opaque tokens supplied by Apple. They cannot be resolved to an app name or a bundle identifier by us; only the system can turn them into the icon and label you see.

Excluded from every server, log, analytics event and push payload: app and website selections, activity durations, pickup counts, notification counts, shield presentations and overrides, temporary-access history, and any score computed from them.

Health data: read on your device, shared only if you say so

If you allow it, Aheno reads sleep from Apple Health to show your nights more accurately than a guess based on when your phone went quiet. Aheno requests read access to sleep only. It never requests write access and never writes anything into Health.

That sleep information is derived immediately into a short nightly summary — the date, how long you slept, when you went to bed, when you woke, and how many times sleep broke. The raw Health samples are not stored. Sleep stages, heart rate, and every other health category are neither requested nor touched.

The summary is written to a private container on your device, protected so that it cannot be read while the phone is locked. It stays there so the sleep panels can draw it, and it goes no further unless you turn on sharing.

Aheno does not use Health data for advertising, does not sell it, does not disclose it to data brokers, and does not use it to build marketing profiles or for any purpose other than showing you your own sleep and, if you choose, showing it to a person you approved.

Sharing statistics with another person

You can connect with other people so that each of you can see the other's focus, rest, and balance numbers. Connecting takes two deliberate acts by two different people: one of you creates an invite code and passes it on, and the other redeems it — but nothing is visible until the person who received the request accepts it. Sharing a code means agreeing to be found, not agreeing to be watched.

There is no searchable directory. Nobody can look you up by name, email address, or phone number, because no such lookup exists. The only way someone reaches you is a code you handed them yourself.

Sleep is separate. A connection does not carry sleep unless you switch sleep sharing on for that specific connection, and your choice is independent of theirs — you can see their nights without showing yours, and the reverse. When you switch it off, the nightly summaries held for that purpose are deleted rather than hidden, and they are refused entirely if no connection is currently consenting to read them.

What a connected person sees: your daily focus minutes and session counts, how many sessions ended with a safety exit, your rest and balance figures, and — only with the separate sleep consent — your nightly sleep summaries. What they never see: your screen time, which apps you use, which apps you limit, your notifications, or your pickups. Those cannot leave your device at all.

They also see when your figures were last updated, because the data refreshes when you open Aheno. A person who has not opened the app in two days shows two-day-old numbers, and the screen says so rather than presenting stale figures as current.

Either side can disconnect at any time, and disconnecting ends the connection in both directions immediately. It does not require the other person's agreement.

Account, focus sessions, and purchases

Signing in uses Sign in with Apple. Aheno receives your name and email address only if you choose to share them, and Apple's private relay address is fully supported. The identity token is verified and exchanged for an Aheno session; we do not receive your Apple password or your Apple ID.

Focus sessions you run in Aheno are stored on our servers so they survive a lost phone and can be shown to people you have connected with. A session record contains its start and end time, how long you planned and how long you completed, the intensity you chose, whether it finished or ended in a safety exit, and an optional outcome you selected. It contains nothing about which apps were protected during it.

Plans, life projects, achievements, and community posts you create are stored under your account. Community identity is a preset handle and a generated avatar; your real name is never attached to a post.

Subscriptions are processed by Apple and mirrored through RevenueCat so entitlements survive reinstalls. We receive the subscription status, not your payment details, card number, or billing address — Apple never gives those to us.

If you enable notifications, a device delivery token is stored so messages can reach your phone. It identifies a device for delivery, not a person's behaviour.

What Aheno does not do

No advertising identifiers, no ad networks, no third-party trackers, and no cross-app tracking. Aheno does not ask for permission to track you because there is nothing it would do with the permission.

No selling of personal information, and no sharing of it for cross-context behavioural advertising, under any definition used by California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or comparable laws.

No location, no contacts, no photo library, no microphone, and no calendar unless you explicitly connect one for planning — and then only for the events you asked to import or export.

No profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and no automated decision-making of that kind.

This website collects no forms, no marketing cookies, and no analytics that identify you.

How long things are kept, and how to remove them

Screen time and app usage: never stored, so there is nothing to delete or to ask us for.

Sleep summaries on your device: replaced each time Aheno refreshes them, and removed when you revoke Health access in iOS Settings.

Sleep summaries on our servers: only present while at least one connection has sleep sharing switched on, and deleted the moment the last one is switched off.

Focus sessions, plans, projects, achievements, and community content: kept while your account exists.

Delete your account from inside the app. Deletion removes your account records and the content attached to them. Because we never held your screen time or app usage, deletion cannot return it — it was never ours.

You may also request a copy of what we hold, ask for a correction, or object to a particular processing, by writing to support@aheno.app.

Who else is involved

Apple, for Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, push delivery, Health access, and the Screen Time frameworks that draw your usage on your own device.

RevenueCat, for subscription entitlement state.

Our own backend infrastructure, which stores account records, focus sessions, plans, community content, and — only under the consent described above — shared sleep summaries.

Aheno's servers are operated in a way that may involve international transfer of the account data described here. Screen time and app usage are not part of any transfer, because they are not part of any transmission.

Age

Aheno is not directed to children under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them. If you believe a child has created an account, write to support@aheno.app and it will be removed.

Changes and contact

When this notice changes in a way that affects what is collected or shared, the change will be announced in the app before it takes effect, not applied quietly.

Questions, requests, and complaints: support@aheno.app.

This page is written to match what the software actually does, section by section. Where the two ever disagree, the software is the bug.

Can Aheno see which apps I use?

No. Those numbers are rendered by an Apple extension that has no network access and no way to return data to the app. Aheno shows them to you without ever reading them.

If I share statistics with a friend, can they see my screen time?

No, and this is a technical limit rather than a setting. Your screen time cannot leave your device, so there is nothing to send them. They see focus, rest, balance, and — only with your separate consent — sleep.

What happens to my shared sleep data if I change my mind?

Switching sleep sharing off deletes the nightly summaries from our servers rather than hiding them, and they are refused entirely whenever no connection is consenting to read them.

How do I get a copy of what Aheno holds about me?

Write to support@aheno.app. You can also ask for a correction, object to a particular processing, or delete your account from inside the application at any time.
