See the pattern behind the total.

Review today’s Screen Time summary and your focus history without treating a number as a verdict. Detailed reports and longer attention history are Pro features; raw Screen Time reports stay on the device.

A smaller total is not the only useful result

Some phone time is necessary: study references, navigation, work or talking with someone you care about. A total does not tell you whether that use served your intention. Look for the moments when a short check became a longer visit or interrupted the work you meant to do.

Use the summary to ask a specific question, such as “Which apps interrupted my revision window?” A question gives you a change to test; chasing a perfect number can hide what actually needs attention.

Review one pattern, then test one change

Interpret the available information alongside the context of your day.

  1. Look at today’s summary and remember what you used your phone for.
  2. Identify one recurring interruption or period that felt unplanned.
  3. Choose a small change: protect a session, set a daily limit or move a distracting app off the first screen.
  4. Review again after using the change. Ask whether the important task became easier, not only whether the total fell.

Screen Time reporting needs Apple’s authorisation and available device data. The reflex tile uses pickup information Apple makes available for selected applications. Read its methodology explanation before interpreting that estimate as a behaviour pattern.

A high total with one useful change

A day with reading, transport and work messages may show substantial phone time. If repeated entertainment checks interrupted a writing block, protecting those apps for the next writing session can be more useful than limiting every app equally. Compare that experience with the next summary.

Understand privacy and measurement limits

Raw app selections, Screen Time durations and pickup estimates are rendered through Apple’s device activity report extension. Aheno does not upload those report values to its backend or analytics. Account-based plans and focus sessions are separate data flows described in the Privacy Notice.

A pickup estimate is not a diagnosis or a count of intentions. Missing data does not prove that you used an app zero times. Permissions, report availability and iOS behaviour can affect what appears; avoid drawing a firm conclusion from an empty tile.

Use a report to make one decision

Choose one boundary you can test today, then check whether it helped your real task. Keep reports as feedback for a routine you control.

Are pickup estimates exact counts of reflex checking?

No. They use the selected-app pickup information Apple makes available and have limitations explained in the methodology sheet. They cannot establish why you picked up your phone or diagnose a condition.

Is my raw Screen Time report uploaded?

No. Raw selections, durations and pickup estimates stay in the device reporting boundary. Aheno uses separate account data for functions such as plan and focus-session sync; those are explained in the Privacy Notice.
